Trailer lighting is one of those things nobody talks about — until a light fails on the highway, or a DOT officer pulls you over, or water gets into a housing and shorts the whole system. Then it becomes a very big deal very fast.
At Delco, we partnered with Vision LED Lights because we wanted lighting that doesn’t create those problems in the first place.
More than just lights
In our second vendor spotlight, the Vision LED team came to our facility and walked through everything they supply for a Delco trailer: wiring harnesses, lighting assemblies, and DOT-compliant reflective tape. Their team broke down how each component contributes to the durability, safety, and performance of the finished trailer.
It’s the kind of detail that doesn’t show up in a spec sheet or a window sticker. You don’t buy a trailer because of its wiring harness. But you’d absolutely notice if the wiring harness failed.
It’s the details you don’t always see that make the biggest difference.
Why Vision LED
LED technology has changed what’s possible in trailer lighting — longer lifespan, better visibility, lower power draw, and better resistance to vibration and moisture than traditional incandescent setups. Vision LED builds products engineered specifically for trailer applications, not repurposed from something else.
Their team also previewed some new products coming down the pipeline, which tells you something: they’re not standing still. Neither are we.
DOT compliance isn’t optional
Every trailer we build has to meet federal lighting standards. We don’t treat DOT compliance as a checkbox — we treat it as a minimum. The components we use from Vision LED are spec’d to meet those requirements and then some, because the people who buy our trailers use them in the real world, not in a controlled test environment.
